Why We Won't Help You

Mark wrote a little rant about why people sometimes find it hard to get help on mailing lists.

The short, smart-alec, Zen-like answer is that we are helping you, you just don't realize it yet. ... Validation is an indicator of cluefulness.

In other words, we help people who help themselves. Don't make us do something that you yourself are not willing to do.
